도전할 것인가? 안주할 것인가?
도전은 모든 인간 행위의 핵심이며 주된 동기이다.
우리는 바다가 있으면 이를 건너고,
질병이 생기면 이를 치료하고,
잘못된 것이 있으면 이를 바로잡으며,
기록이 있으면 이를 깬다.
그리고 산이 있으면 이를 오른다.

기본적으로 모든 인간은 익숙한 지대에 오랫동안 머물고 싶은,
즉 안전지대(comfort zone)에 안주하고 싶은 욕구를 가지고 있습니다.
그러나 또 다른 한편으로는 위험하지만
새로운 도전지대를 찾아 나서는
도전과 모험의 욕구가 자리 잡고 있습니다.
도전하지 않으면 안전하긴 하지만 성공하기는 어렵습니다.
이는 역사가 가르쳐주는 사실입니다.
Wanting to stay in a comfortable, familiar place- in
a comfort zone for as long as possible- is a part of human nature.
On the other hand, despite the risks involved,
there is also a part of us that craves to explore and
seek out new challenges.
History has shown that it is difficult to succeed without taking risks.
